On August 25, 2025, President Trump issued the ProclamationFourth Anniversary of the Attack at Abbey Gate, 2025to an audience of Gold Star Families in the Oval Office of the White House.[RELATED:Gold Star families join Trump to commemorate 4th anniversary of Abbey Gate attackand Trump Marks Four Years Since the Abbey Gate Bombing]The President Proclaimed:

As our Nation solemnly marks 4 years since the attack at Abbey Gate, we honor the memory of the 13 brave souls and every military service member to ever die in the line of duty and we renew our resolve to protect American lives, defend American interests, and uphold American sovereignty.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DONALD J. TRUMP, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim August 26, 2025, as a day in commemoration of the 4th anniversary of the attack at Abbey Gate. I encourage all Americans to remember the heroism of the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country, and the Gold Star Families who carry on their proud legacy.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this twenty-fifth day of August, in the year of our Lord two thousand twenty-five, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and fiftieth.

On August 25, 2025, the White House published the articleYes, Chicago Has a Crime Problem Just Ask its Residentshighlighting the following facts about Chicago's crime problem:

The article goes on to detail that Chicago residents want something done about this out-of-control crime. The article concludes with a list of 25 recent criminal activities between June 6, 2025 and August 25, 2025 that occurred in Chicago. My August 25, 2025 ANP Article discusses issues with Chicago's leadership and the "pro-crime, pro-criminal, pro-illegal alien" stance of the democratic party.

On August 25, 2025, President Trump signed the EO Prosecuting Burning of The American Flaghas a goal of protecting our great American Flag as a cherished symbol of the USA representing freedom, identify, and strength. The Supreme Court, in a 5:4 decision, ruled in Texas v. Johnson, 491 US 397, 408-10 (1989) that flag burning "constitutes a form of symbolic speech" that is protected by the 1st Amendment. However, as with other 'hate speech' laws, the Supreme Court did not find that using flag burning in such a manner as to incite imminent lawless action is constitutionally protected. This EO directs the US AG to prioritize the enforcement of our Nation's criminal and civil laws against acts of desecration consistent with the 1st Amendment, with a focus on whether burning the flag violates other laws (such as open burning restrictions, property laws, disorderly conduct laws). And, if found to violate other laws, this EO urges the US AG to vigorously prosecute the burnings. And, if flag burning is done by non-Citizens of the US, the Secretary of State, US AG, and the Secretary of Homeland Security shall deny, prohibit, terminate, or revoke visas, residence permits, naturalization proceedings, and other immigration benefits and/or seek removal of the flag burner from US soil.

The accompanying Fact Sheet President Donald J. Trump Protects the American Flag from Desecrationexplains that we need to restore respect for our flag, restore pride in our country, and reinforce the values that unite the country while preserving the rights of US Citizens to freely 'speak' against their government.

What part of "you can go to jail for burning the flag of a foreign country on US soil but not for burning the US flag on US soil, especially if you are not a US citizen" is fair? It hurts when foreigners freely burn the symbols of our country on our own soil. If we don't respect the symbolic representation of our country, how can we expect others to respect it? On August 25, 2025, President Trump signed the EO Additional Measures to Address the Crime Emergency in the District of Columbiaexpands EO 14333 and EO 14252 (both discussed in my August 12, 2025 ANP Article) ordering the Director of the National Park Service to hire additional Park Police in DC to support EO 14333 to help maintain public safety and proper order. The US AG for DC shall hire additional prosecutors to focus on prosecuting violent and property crimes. An online application portal shall be created for Law Enforcement positions to pursue this goal. The secretary of Defense shall create a specialized unit of the NG dedicated to ensuring public safety and order in the Nation's Capital. These NG shall be deputized to enforce Federal Law. The Secretary of Defense shall also work with States to ensure each State's NG members are trained for rapid mobilization for these purposes. The Secretary of HUD shall investigate non-compliance with crime-prevention and safety requirements in DC. This includes drug distribution, violent criminal activity, and/or domestic violence on the part of the tenants reporting the crimes to appropriate authorities. The Secretary of Transportation shall take remedial action within their authority if workers or passengers are endangered by crime. The Mayor of DC is requested to make updates and modifications to the Metropolitan Police Department General Orders necessary to address the crime emergency and ensure public order and safety.

The accompanying Fact Sheet President Donald J. Trump Takes Additional Measures to Address the Crime Emergency in the District of Columbiareiterates that the goal is to make our Nation's Capital safe again for both Citizens and visitors alike. On August 25, 2025, the White House published the article Cashless Bail Is a Government-Backed Crime Spreeexplains that cashless bail has turned American cities into hunting grounds for repeat criminals. They are arrested and released to commit more crime. And it needs to stop because it is making a mockery of our justice system. To this end, President Trump has signed two EOs to end the practice of cashless bail.

On August 25, 2025, President Trump signed the EO Measures To End Cashless Bail And Enforce The Law In The District Of Columbiatasks the US AG to review DC Police procedures to identify those practices that allow for the release of criminals who pose a threat to public safety and to request that the Mayor of DC take such action as to stop the release of these criminals through the lawless 'cashless bail' program. Should the elected officials in DC choose to continue releasing criminals who pose a threat to public safety, the AG and Director of OMB are to identify areas in which funds can be withheld from DC to encourage them to start keeping criminals locked up.

The accompanying Fact Sheet President Donald J. Trump Imposes Measures to End Cashless Bail and Enforce the Law in Washington, D.C.explains that arresting authorities will, to the greatest extent possible, pursue Federal charges against individual criminals; bypassing the corrupt DC "cashless bail" scheme to release criminals back onto our streets. The fact sheet gives examples of criminals released without bail who went on to be rearrested for the same or worse crimes. President Trump is determined to be known as the "Law and Order" President as he works to bring Law and Order back to our cities.

But, DC isn't the only city that participates in the "cashless bail" scheme. To address the widespread use of the "cashless bail" scheme across the nation, on August 25, 2025, President Trump signed the EO Taking Steps to End Cashless Bail to Protect Americansdeclaring that it is the policy of his Administration that Federal policies and resources should not be used to support jurisdictions with cashless bail policies (as allowed by law). The US AG shall, within 30 days, provide a list of State and local jurisdictions that participate in the cashless bail scheme for criminals who pose a clear threat to public safety including those offenses involving violent acts, sexual acts, indecent acts, burglary, looting, or vandalism. The Director of OMB shall be consulted to determine which funds (including grants and contracts) can be suspended or terminated until such time as the State or jurisdiction stops the cashless bail scheme.

The accompanying Fact Sheet President Donald J. Trump Takes Steps to End Cashless Bail to Protect Americansexplains that Federal resources will not be used to support the cashless bail scheme. Releasing criminals back onto our streets simply allows those criminals to continue to pursue their criminal agenda. Doing this does not make America Safe Again; therefore, the practice must stop. One effective way to gain compliance is withholding Federal funds. Let the lawsuits commence!

But let it be said:
I stood for peace when peace might still be kept
and for liberty when peace could no longer be bought.

Today's Patriot is Carter Braxton who was born September 10, 1736 on Newington Plantation in King and Queen County, Virginia. He was the younger of 2 sons. His mother died shortly after giving birth to him and his father passed when he was 13 without remarrying.

Carter attended William and Mary College in Virginia. He dropped out after only 1 year to marry Judith Robinson. Carter's older brother died October 3, 1761, leaving him their father's estate as well as the rest of his grandfather's estate.

CartermarriedJudith Robinson onJuly 16, 1755in Middlesex County, Virginia. They had 2 daughters. Judith died in 1757 during childbirth. Carter took 2 years to travel through Europe after the death of Judith. Upon his return, Carter married Elizabeth Corbin on May 15, 1760. They hadup to 16 children(it is not known if they had 16 together or if they had 14 and also counted the 2 daughters from the first marriage).

In 1761, Carter was elected to the Virginia House of Burgesses. In October 1775, Carter was selected to take Peyton Randolph's place at the 2nd Continental Congress. Carter was against Independence and even voted against it on July 2, 1776. He signed the Declaration of Independence even though he opposed it because he did not wish to portray Virginia as divided.

Carter was a key player in the resolution of the Virginia Gunpowder IncidentApril 21, 1775 to May 4, 1775. The Governor of Virginia had gunpowder removed from the storehouse in Williamsburg setting off a chain of events that had the governor forming his own army. Carter negotiated the payment to Patrick Henry and the British kept the gunpowder.

In May 1776, Carter wroteAn Address to the Convention of the Colony and Ancient Dominion of Virginia; on the Subject of Government in General, and Recommending a Particular Form to Their Considerationto counter what he thought was John Adams' "excessively democratic" ideas. Although he was against war, Carter used his substantial wealth to become a financier of the War effort. After the war, Carter continued serving in the Virginia House of Burgesses.

Carter died of a stroke on October 11, 1797 at age 61 at Richmond, Virginia. He is interred at Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond, Virginia. Like many other Patriots, he died in debt.

The WWII Liberty Ship SS Carter Braxton was named in his honor on September 3, 1941 and launched on January 24, 1942. The ship was sold to Union Sulphur & Oil Co., Inc., on June 19, 1947 and renamed Herman Frasch.
